how does logon work?

I am new to Project 2002 and Project Server 2002. We run Project
Server 2002 on one of our many W2K servers. We are running Active
Directory and IIS. My main question is, am I required to set up users
accounts on the Project Server in advanced for anyone who needs
access? Or does the Project Server use Active Directory as it's user
list?
Thanks.

Brian:

Using Project Server 2002, you must first setup the account in Project
Server before users have access. Project Server 2003 has a new feature that
allows you to synch users with one active directory global group. This
automates the process to a point, however you must grant permissions to the
synched resources by editing them in Project Web Access.

I appreciate all the advice. I am revisiting this issue because we
have just installed Project Server 2003. We are tring to sync users
from Active Directory. We started trying to syncronize the Domain
Users group of our domain, but it Partially failed, and only grabbed
about 40 of them. We have close to 850. We were successful in
syncronzing a small group of 3, but when syncronizing a group bigger
than 10, it doesn't get all the users. Any ideas why the Project
Server is syncing some of the users from an AD Group, and not all of
them? Thanks.
