How does overtype show?

I found out how to turn on the option to have insert key control the overtype
mode but where does it show what mode you're in when you are in word? In xp
"OVR" at the bottom of the screen would be darker when it was in overtype and
it'd be light when it was in the insert mode.

Right-click the status bar and click Overtype to display one of the two
words ("Insert" or "Overtype"). Besides pressing the Insert key to change
modes, you can then click the word in the status bar to switch it.
