How get picture anchors to disappear and picture appear?

I have pasted a picture in a Word page. For a long time I used to see the
picture when scrolling the document. Recently, for some unknown reason, I can
see the border of the picture, or the anchors but not the picture until I
click the Print Preview icon. When I print the page the picture is there. How
do I get my picture image back when normally viewing the document?

Try Tools - Options - View, and remove the check next to Picture
Placeholders (in the Show section).
