how I can associate excel files with excel 2007

Since I've upgraded to Office 2007 Ultimate, I canot associate excel files
with Excel programme. Files are openning alright, but all has got a blank
icone and every time I've to go through open with process.
I've already tried available solution in Help & support section including
setup for defauld programme.

I'll apprciate if you can help me with this.

Hi J,

Did you try running the office Diagnostics (see Excel options|Resources)?

If that didn't fix things, you may need to force Excel to rewrite its registry configuration data. This resets Excel to the "factory
defaults". To do this, open the Windows Start menu, choose Run, and enter:
Excel.exe /UnregServer
After you've done this, repeat the process with:
Excel.exe /RegServer
If you're using Windows Vista, open the Windows Start menu and enter the above commands directly in the input panel at the bottom of
the window.
