How keep query QBE pane widths same after saving?

Thanks in advance.
I have a database with some queries, and if I adjust the
width of the columns in the QBE pane, save, and reopen,
the widths have reverted to a common size! And I can no
longer see the whole field name, etc. How do I keep the
QBE pane column widths to stay the same even if I close
the query?
