Depends upon what version of Outlook. In versions older than 2003 your
limit is 2GB and they actually start getting flakey as early as 1.5GB in
some cases.

In 2003 and later (assuming you have Unicode PSTs and not legacy PSTs
brought over from an older version) they can grow much, much larger.

To make it smaller, clean out any items you don't want, empty your deleted
items folder and junk e-mail folders, right-click the root folder of the PST
file in Outlook (View | Folder List), then click Properties | Advanced and
click the Compact Now button.

I'm having a problem with my outlook.pst file in

:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook

It takes forever to load Outlook and I'm sure it's full of junk ... since I
just recoved from my first Outlook crash and had to reload some archives.

How can I see what's in the file. 'm size limited on my boot partition as
well.
