How long can the updates be hold for a project?

Hi, there, I have a question for "Server Buffer".

A project manager keeps "check-out" a project file for few days. During this
period, PM often published new assignments without apply resources progress
updates to this project file, finally resources found some of submitted
updates lost (progress back to status of several days ago).
After testing, I found that the updates will not be impacted in several
hours. when next open of that project file after last publication and closed,
all pending submitted updates will come up. I guess there probably a
threshold ???
My question is: how long can the updates be hold without be impacted from
new publications?

Thanks in advance,

JJin

Hi JJin,

the update will remain in the approval section until the PM decides to
either approve or reject the task. There is not timeline on the approval
itself.
Hope this helps

Hi, Marc, thanks for your quick responding. I do agree with you. However, I
am confusing with the following senario:

- A PM checked out a project for 1 week, he has auto approval (all updates)
set;
- During this week, he did not check any update but published this project
several times, then checked project file in (back to server);
- His team members found their updates submitted in this week have lost
(progress returned to last submission);
- I check the transaction record on team member's PWA and pretty sure they
did submit updates during this week and had approval by "auto approval" rules.

Could you tell me what is the reason?

Thanks in advance,

JJin
