How many computers per license

Is it possible that I can install my 2007 Office Pro on more then one
computer? I recall that for Office 2003, I was able to install 3 copies per
license.

That's good to hear about Office 2003. I have that on an old laptop that's
dying. I just bought a new laptop and want to install it there. Do I just
install and register as I did before?

I am not sure what you mean by edition other then I have Office Proffessional
2007. Does this give you enough information to answer my previous question?

It depends on the edition you purchase. Home and Student (retail) allows you
to install it on three computers for non-commercial use only.

MS Office 2007 retail editions allow installation on two computers and are transferable to another computer. Office 2007 OEM
editions (look for 'OEM' in the product key in Word Options=>Resources
(Alt, T, O, R) are licensed to a particular machine.

Office 2007 Professional edition is available as both an OEM and retail product version.

What if I don't remember? The laptop is at least 6 years old. How do I know?
I've been using the computer of a company where I free lanced the last couple
of years, but it has to go back now.

If Office came with that computer, the only thing you can do is to buy an
upgrade of Office 2007. OEM software dies with the computer.

Look at the invoice or the software that came with the laptop. It should
tell you.
Open Word: Help | About...the product may have OEM in it somewhere.

If you didn't go out and purchase Office yourself, chances are it's OEM with
the computer.

Do you remember buying office?

It's OEM - what does that acronym mean?
I must say that it's another example of MS bullying their customers. While
it came with my PC, I still paid for it as an option. I own it and be able to
do use it beyond the life of the PC it's installed on. If I bought a
navigation system for a car, and the car died, I'd remove the system and put
it on the next car.

You need to Google for OEM and find out that you paid the Original Equipment
Manufacturer for the software...such as Dell. The OEM licensing was sold to
them by MS and a much cheaper price. Thus, any OEM software you have is the
responsibility of the OEM for support, not MS.

It means that you paid to use it on the original machine it came on. If
you want the ability to move it from PC to PC you would need to buy a
license that permits that. Your analogy is flawed, as you "OWN" nothing
other than the right to use it on the original PC.
