how many slides can ppt handle

bac

I have a student who is using ppt to animate a story. She has 2,000 slides
so far and ppt now crashes a lot. Is it ppt, possibly the computer (new core
duo with 4 gig of ram), or maybe some other issue? We use XP.

What Glenna said, and ...

PowerPoint doesn't have a specific limit on the number of slides, but the
larger the presentation gets, the more problems you are likely to run
into. By large, I am mostly referring to file size rather than number of
slides, so you might want to see if something can be done to reduce the
file size. Check out:

Why are my PowerPoint files so big? What can I do about it?
