How not to expand the folder list when receiving emails ?

I have set a rule to move incoming emails to a sub-folder. Normally, I
want to collapse the sub-folder and I only want to see the top level
folder.

However, everytime a email comes in, the folder tree is expanded
showing the sub-folder.

Is there a way to make it such that the folder tree does not expand ?
