How publish users from one web to another

M

Me

Hi all,

I have a restricted subweb in frontpage with about 500 users and passwords
but when I try to coppy this web to another server, the users / passwords
aren't published to the new server... ( I"m changing from webhost )

Anyone any idea how I can copy these users / passwords without having to put
them all in again by hand on the new server...

Thanks,

Nicky

If the users and passwords are set on the remote/host computer, they can't
be transferred when publish to a new host.

So there is no option in frontpage to backup the users / passwords and
restore them to another server?
Why wouldn't this option be available, seems something you simply need...

Consider using a database driven application to manage users.

Hi

Sorry I can't help you but I'm interested in how you setup the restricted
subweb.

Cheers

Because it's based on the host operating system.

See http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;825451
Your host will have to support subwebs and unique permissions under the FP Server Extensions
