How put mbox back in folders?

Version: 2004 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel Email Client: pop I lost an email I saved in a folder.
Did spotlight. Found it on a back up hardrive.
I dragged it to desktop. There it becomes .mbox (is that correct extention/terminology?)
But wont drag back into my folders. They drag out but they don't drag back in?

If you dragged an individual message, it should be a .eml file. You can drag in to folder list or to a folder.

If you dragged out a folder it shows up as an .MBOX file. If it won’t drag in use File > Import and select text files then .MBOX file.

See these movies for dealing with MBOX and .rge files.

So I changed it to a .eml, and a box came up asking if I want to change from a
.vRgeMessage. I said yes. Then it ruined the email, as it no loger had both
the resume and letter attached. no worries. I have backups.
but what is a .vRge??

You're trying to open the Spotlight cache file. They end in .vRge. It points
to the Identity that contains the message.
Also, Why doesn't spotlight tell me where the dang thing is do I can just find
it? see screenshot. Everytime I find an email message in spotlight, the
navigation gets crunched by last few folders. It's all gobly gook abbreviated
stuff I can't deciper.

Use Entourage's Spotlight search. If it's in the Identity, it will show up.
If it's in another Identity, you'll have to switch to that Identity if you
find it using the Finder's Spotlight search.

This is a new feature in Entourage 2008. This one feature alone makes it worthwhile to upgrade. This might solve your problem with sharing with your interns. You would get 3 keys if you buy the H&S version. However, if you use VBA you will need to keep Office 2004 in stalled. You can run both at the same time.

If you don't need Exchange you can get Office 2008 very reasonably from Amazon with free shipping. $109.99 (price can vary slightly)
