How should I include graphics in Access database cells?

My company sells walk-in freezers. I am creating a database for my company's
salesmen using Access 3002. It will include the customer's info, as well as
basic information about the chamber they are purchasing. I want them them to
be able to include a simple top view of the chamber, showing the approximate
door location.

In an early effort to figgure out a method, we were using Excel. I was able
to create a set of "clip art" which were just placed off to the side. These
shapes included simple squares with dimension lines drawn already, as well as
various types of doors in left-hand and right-hand versions. All the
salesman needed to do was drag the necessary graphic to the print area of the
Excel spreadsheet. They could edit the dimension values by just clicking on
them (even though the drawing was not to scale, this is sufficient for our
needs).

I've been unable to create a similar process in Access. Currently I have
created a field, which is an OLE object. In the form, the salesman
rightclicks the field and inserts an OLD object, then must choose Microsoft
Power Point from the list. Then, they can create the illustration using Power
Point.

There are a few problems with this, the first being the number of steps to
initiate the drawing process. The second is the lack of "clip art" to make
it easy to create the drawing. Power Point always opens with its default
page (which I don't want change). Will a lot of these powerpoint pages
cause my database to get too large?

Perhaps I can solve some of the difficulties above by adding a macro to the
image cell, which automatically initiates the OLE of the Power Point drawing,
and perhaps the initial template they use. But, at this point I am wondering
if I am going down the wrong road.

Any suggestions?

Thank You,
