How tell initial display from return to form?

I have a form on which I initialize a combo box value to a
value in a table (the user name). This value can be
changed and a button pressed to list different data on a
new form. However, when I close this form, the combo box
value is re-initialized instead of retaining its changed
value. How is this supposed to be done?

For it to retain its value, you have to store it somewhere. This can be done
by binding it to a field in a table just as textboxes are. The column listed
as the Bound Column is the one that will have its data stored.
