Live like its your last day....

I made the dreaded mistake of funning the beta version of Office 2007 that
came with a magazine. Yes it ran out of trials. Not only is the new version
yet for sale to upgrade, I doubt I'd be able to afford it anyway.
My problem now is, I can load office word, excel, etc with my office 2003
siute. how do I get around this?

sorry I meant I CANT load previous versons of word, excel, etc....

You didn't run out of trials. You apparently didn't activate your trial
version. And if you weren't going to buy it, why try it?

Also, you apparently told Office 2007 to upgrade Office 2003. Have you
uninstalled 2007 and tried reinstalling 2003? If so, what happened? If you
got error messages, what did they say? Please don't paraphrase them.

a further question but on related theme (and can work out how to reply here
but not make new post)...

have installed beta, but thinking ahead if i decide either not to conintue
with the beta, or to not purchse in the future and revert to office 2003, is
there a tool to convert office 2007 files to office 2003 format, or is there
a patch for office 2003 to allow it to read office 2007 files..

just occured to me that anything done using 2007 will not open in previous
versions of office...

Hi Dim,

There is a beta of the Twin-Pack downloads (File Format Awareness and Compatability/Converter set) that will add the ability to
read/write Office 2007 files in Office XP and Office 2003. Both parts of the Twin-Pack should be installed together.
http://microsoft.com/office/preview/beta/converter.mspx
There will be a final version when MS Office 2007 is released and while it *should* be able to work with any of the .docx, .docm,
etc files created in the Office 2007 Beta 2 file format there aren't any guarantees that this will be true (i.e. fixing a bug from
Beta 2 may cause an issue with a file created in Beta 2).

You can save all of the files in Beta 2 in Office 2007 legacy formats using File=>Save as and/or by setting the default file formats
to the classic ones in the options dialog for each app (File=>[app] Options)

Live like its your last day....

Firstly: JoAnn Paules, I installed the program to see what it was like,
something I am sure I am not the only person to have done. & Its irrelivant
to uninstalling the program to reinstall office 2003.

ok. I installed it, now I get a window that says that the program is not
registered (I activated it using the key that was allocated with the
magazine). I often try new progras to see what they are like tho. All I want
is to uninstall the program & go back to Office 2003. Ive uninstalled it from
my sons computer before the trial period ran out. No problems. Unfortunately
on my PC, the trial period did expire, it now opens, but I cant use it. I can
see what word document it is, but I cant type, copy or paste. I uninstalled
2007 to go back to 2003, only to find when I reinstalled 2003, it now wont
install word, excel, etc.

So you uninstalled 2007, no problem. But here you're saying you reinstalled
2003 but it won't install individual applications.

I'm sorry, but that doesn't make sense to me. I assume you cannot really
install Office 2003. Or maybe you could install Office 2003, but when you
try to open Word and Excel., you receive an error message?

If you're seeing error messages, please tell us what they say, word for
word.
