How to Access a Former Employees Password-Protected PST File?

Our organization recently needed to review old email data belonging to a former employee for compliance and business reference purposes. We were able to locate the Outlook PST file from a system backup, but the problem is that the PST file is password-protected, and the employee is no longer available to provide the password. We tried importing the PST file into Microsoft Outlook, but it keeps prompting for a password, making the data completely inaccessible. Since this email data is critical for legal and operational reasons, we are looking for a safe, legitimate, and non-destructive way to access the PST file without knowing the original password.
