How to access the Mactopia forums using a newsreader

Hi,

We now have a way to access the Mactopia forum using a newsreader. You can
continue to use this newsgroup or if you want to help out with the Mactopia
forum questions or have your questions and replies shown on the website,
create a new News account in your newsreader. The two newsgroup are totally
separate where previously the Mactopia forum messages were automatically
coming to this newsgroup.

server: www.officeformac.com
login: enter your Mactopia username (if you don't have an account you'll
need to set one up on Mactopia.)
password: your Mactopia password

Once you log in using this server, you can subscribe to any of the forums.

and the Mactopia forums two separate, independently living and breathing
entities for once and for all, I gather? It wasn't clear just what was going
on for quite some time.

Well it's not clear to me at this point.
It looks like - as of today - the two are properly syncing together.
Accessing the groups from the new server might be more reliable
though...
Unfortunately, it doesn't host any of the other SM groups (and I check
several of them in addition to the Mac ones) so it looks like I'd have
to keep on using the two servers anyway.

I don't think that the intention is to keep them separate so the answer to
your question is no, this is not "once and for all." However, in practice,
the connection between the two has been problematic for so long that it is
best assume that messages from one will not make it to other.

Need some feedback.....

I'm seeing all messages (going back weeks) come in again today and
everything is marked as unread. Anyone else seeing this behavior?

I'm using the Entourage newsreader.
