How to accomodate pre-printed letterhead layout?

Hi,

To accomodate preprinted letterhead in the past we have used an empty text
box down the left hand side of the page to push everything over. This works
well until you want to use styles with indenting. I have three styles which
are indented at 1.5cm increments. The problem is when I have a text box down
the left hand side with square wrapping, the indenting does not work
correctly or sometimes not at all. I am assuming this is because the text
box does actually change the left margin, therefore the indenting is still
relevant to the "real" margin as opposed to the margin force by the text
box.

I've tried using bulleted paragraphs using a blank bullet which seems to
work OK but that seems like a very ugly workaround. Is there a better way to
accomodate letterhead without interferring with indenting?

Cheers,

John

The way you describe is the only way I know of short of a section break,
and, as you know, that causes even more problems. Have you tried printing? I
find that even though my indented paragraphs (in Word 2002) don't appear
indented (even in Print Preview), thety actually print correctly. But I
evidently lead a charmed life, as I was able to get indents next to text
boxes and frames in Word 97 when no one else could, so my experience is
probably not relevant.
