How to add a subweb link to an auto nav bar

I'm using the automatic navigation bars based on the
navigation structure.

How can I add a link to a file in a sub web (which I
can't seem to add to the navigation structure because
those files are not part of the current web)?

Right click a page in Nav View to add an external link, then browse to your subweb
