How to add an email account

Stefanie

I haven't been able to figure out how to add an email account in Outlook. I
have followed the instructions and I can get to where you click on test
account settings. It goes through the steps but a box will come up with the
email I made up and I enter my password but the box just keeps coming up. Is
there something else that I have to do before adding an email account in
Outlook? I have a password for something, but I don't know what it is for. I
was given some notes from a lady at work on how to set up an email, but it's
not working. No one at work knows how to set up emails...they're not very
computer literate.
Please help!!!
THANK YOU!!

The email you "made up"? You need to create a new mail box with your ISP
before you set it up in outlook - you can't just "make up" email
addresses....

Your email address and its settings are supplied by your ISP - Internet
Service Provider -
Once you have them, to hand, you open outlook and in Options>Accounts you
add an Account using the appropriate settings and test it there.

How do I create an email with our ISP? Do I have to call them or can I go
online somewhere?

Go to their website - there's probably something in the FAQ....

If you have an ISP, chances are high that they already have given you an
email address. Have you called them or accessed their help pages online?
