How to add built-in footers?

I'm forever changing the built-in headers and footers in Word/Excel/Access to
meet my needs. How do I add a built-in footer or header so I can just pick
it from the drop down lists in the page setup combo box?

You may create document templates for this and use them to create a new
document. At least in word/excel.
