How to add custom stencils to custom developed Drawing type?

Hi,
I have created custom stencils and edited path in options for templates and
stencils. But when i choose that template from file->new drawing type it does
not automatically open the stencils i created. I have to go to
files->shapes->open stencil ; is there any way I can automatically associate
these stencils with particular drawing type ?
Help on this is highly appreciated.
I am using Visio 2003.

TIA

Have the stencils open when you save the template and ensure you select "workspace" (next
to the Save button (you may need to do a Save As to see this option).

If you are going the whole hog, then you need the Visio SDK and something
like Visual Studio to create a windows installation (*.msi) file. The SDK
contains the Visio Solution Publisher which allows you to modify the msi
file to provide Category and verbose names for Visio templates and stencils.
