how to add extension to office 2003 ?

In my organization we use the extansion "Aplication_name.APP" when the uesers
try to send the applcation by mail, OUTLOOK 2003 do not parmit it.

"Outlook blocked access to the following potentially unsafe attachments"

How can I make Outlook to accept this file ?

you can either zip it so that .app will be inside a .zip file
or
you can simply rename it as .tmp or something
and when the other side receives the attachment
it can be renamed back to .app
