how to add GAL to Contacts Tab

R

Raquel

hello everyone

We have Exchange 2000 with clients using Outlook 2007

Outlook has a contacts tab which I would like to add the GAL
shortcut,I'm quite concerned about keeping the file current on the
local users workstations... not going to copy it locally

thanks in advance

I don't understand. The GAL is kept up to date by the Exchange Admin when adding mailboxes, deleting mailboxes, or adding/deleting distribution lists. The local Outlook has nothing to do with updating the GAL. Perhaps if you were more specific.

Thankyou for response...

In Outlook 2007 you have a Navigation
Pane(mail,contacts,caledar,Notes,shortcuts...etc)
if you go to the contacts area you'll most like see "my contacts" and
your personal contacts
within your profile.

What I would like to do, is add the Corporate Contacts there,as a
shortcut or as a new group.

Some users who have ugraded from 2003 have no problem in this area the
Corporate Contacts exist.

What I have done,is gone to the PF>corporate contacts>checked show
this as an outlook address
book) to avail..any ideas..?

Milly thanks for the reply...

The navigation pane in Outlook 2007 has contacts, calendar notes...etc
available

what I would like to do is add from the PF's the Corporate Contacts in
to the Contacts area of the
Navigation pane as a shortcut/link...?

I have enabled the "show this folder as an adress book" from the
folder list

Cheers

You don't need to add the GAL to the contacts view - whenever you create a new mail message and press the TO:, you get a window with a dropdown where you can specify which address book you want to use, your contacts, additional contact folders marked as address books, or the GAL. Simply have the user select which one to pull the name/address from.
