How to add login dialog box in FrontPage 2003

S

Stu Littleton

I am using FrontPage 2003. I want to restrict access to a section of a
website. The section is any webpage contained in a folder named "Limited".
I want to click on a link with the name "Limited" and have a login dialog
(with a username and password) appear. The link would complete to the index
page in Limited if the user types the correct pasword. Can I do this? If
yes, how?

Check with your web host regarding setting permissions on a folder.

If your site has FrontPage extensions, and your server and host allow
subwebs with unique permissions then right click on the limited folder
and choose "convert to web".
Open the remote site in FrontPage and do the same - then double click
the subweb to open it.
Then use Tools->Server->Permissions to change permissions and add new
users. Make sure that YOU have access under the same userid/password
you use for the main web site.
