How to adjust size line when copying data from excel to word

I have copy and paste a table from excel to word and all lines are define as
1/2 point lenght. I link the data table using LINK excel8 function but I
would like that all line 1/2 point be convert as 1/4 point. Does anyone know
how to do that ?
1/4 point doesn't exist in excel ?

This approach might work, but I'm not sure...

1. Try using the \r or \h function in the LINK field (this would be the
equivalent of Paste Special in RTF or HTML format). This will insert the Excel
table with Word table properties.

2. Make sure there's a \* MergeFormat switch in the LINK field (to preserve
formatting you apply to the table while in Word).

3. Now select the table and change the border formatting.

In order to test whether this works, click in the table and press F9 to force
the update. If the borders don't change back, you're in business.

Hi Cindy,
Thanks for the answer.
The problem I have is that I can't let the \* MergeFormat because my table
is very complicated in excel.
Example of my table:
Item1
Item2
Border between Item2 and Total1
Total1
Item3
Item4 ..
If I add a line between Item 2 and Total in excel, the Underline will stay
just after Item2 (should be after the new item). Word cannot know that an
Item as been added in the table to adjust Border.

An other solution should be to use a line as - - - - - - - - in excel.. Word
will recognize it as 1/4. This solution is not very stable. RTF format need
more stability but for the data, it is the only format (with link) that
preserve the excel column width.
