How to assign permissions using AD sync

I want new employees who (show up in our AD) to be added to the ERP and get
Team Member permissions.
* AD Resource Pool Sync is configured and brings new employees to the pool,
that works fine
* Team Members group is also synced to the same AD group and the group has
permissions assigned and new employees are indeed assigned to the Team Member
Group but DO NOT get any rights.

What am I missing?

I'm confused by your question. When AD sync adds your new people to the
Team Members group, they automatically inherit the permissions specified in
the Team Members group. Please give us more information and we will try to
help you.
