how to avoid sent messages appearing in Inbox?

How can I avoid a Sent Message appearing in my Inbox? It also goes to my
Sent folder and that is fine. But I don't need both. I use Office 2007
with Windows XP.

Hi Sandy,
Quite confusing here, do you receive a delivery report of the sent e-mails
or sent items itself. If its about delivery report , uncheck the option.
Tools>options>Email options>Tracking options.

Is this a Gmail account, by chance?

No. I have two accounts: one is a pop3 and one is an Exchange account. Both
go through a LAN. Both in Outlook. By the way, I never had this problem on
my old PC using Outlook Express or on my MAC using the same two accounts with
Entourage. Only on my new PC using Outlook 2007. Thanks for any help you
can offer.

Check your rules (on outbound messages) to see if you are sending
yourself a copy. Some add-ons will do that, too, so you could test by
loading Outlook in its safe mode ("outlook.exe /safe") which will not
load any installed add-ons.

Your description is very atypical. Unless you have a rule making a copy of
the outgoing message ot unless you have something adding yourself as an
address to outgoing messages, Outlook doesn't do what you describe. For
which account does this happen?

I checked all my rules. Nothing there. I even deleted anything remotely
similar. Now they are are not going to my Sent folder at all! Something is
fishy. Couldn't figure out how to load Outlook in safe mode. Still trying.
Thanks for your ideas!

Click Start>Run. Enter

outlook.exe /safe

in the Open field. Click OK. Be sure to include the space in front of the
slash.
