How to build 3 level outlines in Word 2004

B

Bible John

Can someone give me step by step on building 3 level outlines in Word 2004?

ie..

Proposition/Theme- OneNess Pentecostalism is false because it contradicts
the scriptures in the essentials and those that follow these teachings are
not 'born again."

I. Point 1
A. Subpoint
1.
2.
B.Sub 2

II. Point II

etc..

I want an easy way of doing this. I am aware of Word's Outline mode but do
not know how to use it. Thanks..

John

For most requirements there is no need to "build" a multi-level numbering
scheme. There are several styles readily available in Format> Bullets &
Numbering - Outline Numbered. See Word Help on:

Create an outline numbered list

In addition to the Increase/Decrease Indent buttons you can use Tab &
Shift+Tab to demote/promote levels.

If you do have a need to customize you'll find excellent instructions here:

http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/numbering/OutlineNumbering.html

But follow the instructions explicitly - Numbering in Word is a complex
matter which can cause a great deal of anguish if not handled properly.
