how to change a file extention???

PDFs can be opened by Acrobat or Adobe Reader; they cannot be opened in
Word, even if you change the file extension.

Well... technically, they CAN be opened by Word as text files, but the
resulting text is mostly gibberish.

The basic idea is that the extension of a file name indicates what
program will recognise the file or what its purpose is.
PDF files are opened by PDF Readers..
DOC files are opend by MS Word and maybe others.
XLS files are opened by EXCEL.
EXE files are executable programs.
etc etc
Just changing the extension of a file does not change its contents or
the ability of other programs to open it.
