How to change default project when Project 2002 Pro opens?

When I open my Project Pro the blank project that automatically opens
always has the 'automatic filter' on so every column has the arrow
down at the top. I have opened the Enterprise Global, turned off the
filter and saved the Enterprise Global. That doesn't work - next time
the filter is turned on again. This isn't a problem but it is
annoying because I don't know why it is happening. Can someone tell
me how to change the blank default project file so this doesn't open
with the filters turned on?

Pat,
What you are seeing is called Autofilter. To turn this off, open Project
Pro, select the Project menu, then Filtered for:. A list of items will open
to the right. At the bottom of the list is Autofilter. Click Autofilter and
the column arrows will go away.

Note the icon for autofilter. There is also an icon for autofilter on the
toolbar to the right of the filter drop-down. You can also use this icon to
toggle autofilter on and off.

This isn't an attribute that is saved by project, which is why changing the
global template didn't help you. It is saved in your start-up attributes
(which is why you would see it but other users would not, for instance).
Once you toggle it off, it will stay off until you toggle it back on.

In addition to 10K's excellent comments about the autofilter function of
Microsoft Project, here's how to turn off the autofilter function that you
see for every new project:

1. Open Microsoft Project
2. Click Tools - Options
3. Click the General tab
4. Deselect the "Set Autofilter on for new projects" option
5. Click OK
6. Click the Autofilter button to remove autofiltering from the current
project

Hope this helps.
