How to change Entourage's behavior when deleting a message?

Does anyone know how to change the default behavior when a message is deleted? If I am reading messages in a preview pane and I delete a message, it moves up to the next message instead of down, like exchange/outlook.

I generally read the newer messages first and like to save them if I want to. Is there away to make Entourage move down to the next message after I delete one?

I recommend using Option-Command-] and Option-Command-[ when navigating
messages. These will delete the current message and move in the
direction you specify.

Thank a lot! That was very helpful. Is there a list of hot keys available?

This does help, but this is another example of MS producing a Mac
product that is, by design it seems, less powerful and user friendly
than the PC version. Anyone from MSFT wish to respond??

Absolutely! Just search Entourage Help for "Keyboard shortcuts". You'll
find those two shortcuts in the list under "Entourage Keyboard
Shortcuts>Messages".

I like to use the space bar to go to the next message. It doesn't delete,
but it's quick. I have most folders set to unread only, so the read messages
don't get in the way. You might find the nuke messages script useful. This
bypasses Deleted Items folder. So use it wisely.

See the section Keyboard Shortcuts on this page:

Cheers and Welcome to Mac!

Or you could chalk it up to just being different. I have no problem
with Entourage's behavior because I'm used to it. Not everything is a
conspiracy.

They're busy finding more ways to annoy you, they can't come to the
newsgroup right now.
