How to change Project ID number

Each time, when I published a project, the project ID
number automatically increased by 1. Even I deleted all
previous projects ever published, the ID number woudn't
go back. Can we change this ID number so as to make it
consistent with our real project number? Thanks a lot.

Scott:

It's a Unique ID generated by the system. You could change your existing
numbering system to match Project Server, or add your existing number
identifier to a custom field in Project.
