How to change the default working hours for all enterprise resourc

Currently all of the resources in my Enterprise Resource Pool have a 8 hour
working day. I have tried to change the default setting in the options menu,
but that does not seem to work. Does anyone have any suggestions?

In the Enterprise Global file, you must change the base calendar assigned to
all of your resources to reflect your company's standard working day. Hope
this helps.

I opend the Enterpise Global file and opened the options feature from the
tools menu. I changed the default start and end time and the hours per day,
saved and exited the file but the resources are still dispalying a hour work
day. Is there someting I am missing?

You need to open the Enterprise Global and click Tools - Change Working
Time. Change the base calendar time settings here for the calendar assigned
as the Base Calendar for each resource in the Enterprise Resource Pool.
The actions you took do not change the base calendars in the least. Hope
this helps.

Dale--

I have performed the actions that you stated. Now when I view the
enterprise resources in the MS Project it shows the resources as being
available for 6 hours. I have also republished the project and its tasks.
Yet when I view the resource availablity in PWA it shows the resources as
being availabe for 8 hours. Any insight?

What calendar did you edit and how did you edit it? What calendar is
assigned to each resource in the Base Calendar column of the Resource Sheet
view in the Enterprise Resource Pool? Let us know.

I am attempting to edit the "Standard(Project Calendar)" in the Enterprise
Global file. The "Standard file is what is selected in the resource sheet of
the Enterprise Resource file. I just realized that the change I made
previously only effected the currend day. I opened tools-change working time
and changed the end time to 3pm from 5pm. Now this obviously only changed the
working time for today, and it changes the radio button to NonDefault working
time. I must be missing a step somewhere.

Select the M through F column headers in the calendar and then change the
working times. Hope this helps.

Again, it shows up correctly in MS Project but it is not the case in Project
Server which is still showing a 8 hour day

Ah, your question finally makes sense to me. I was misunderstanding your
problem. The resource availability information in PWA will be updated the
next time the OLAP cube rebuilds. You should then see the correct resource
availability information in PWA. Hope this helps.

You are welcome, my friend! Thanks for your patience with me until I
finally understood your problem. :)
