Lost in InfoPath

When I create an InfoPath form library, a column called "Name" is
automatically created. This column does not show up in the form library
settings. In the form library settings, I see a column called "Title" which
SharePoint creates by default when a new library is created.

My question is, is it possible to change the name of the "Name" column. I
want to call it "Log ID" for instance. This is the name of that field in the
InfoPath template that is used to publish the form, but in the SharePoint
site it says "Name". It is even pulling the Log ID info from the newly
created forms filled out by users and populating this ID in that column
called "Name". I am working in MOSS 2007 and using InfoPath 2007. Has anyone
run into this before and figured out a way around it?

For display a field present in InfoPath Form on to a SharePoint
library, you will need to do property promotion while publishing the
form.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

To my knowledge, we cannot change the default library column Name field
name. If you want to add the Log ID to the library columns then add this as
property promotion field to the form while publishing.
