How to change the total when filter is applied.

Hi

I have a list of payment types in column A. I have a list of the payment
figures in column B. I have a single cell in column C which adds all the
payments in B together.

My problem is that when I auto-filter the types in column A , the global
amount in C stays the same!

I want it to reflect the filtered amounts showing according to the
auto-filter I apply - is this possible?
