How to check activation

Hi, we have just taken over a contract to administer a customers network,
they currentley have a mix of office 2000 and office xp. However they had an
earlier policy of using just office 2000 and as it was no longer available
they had bought the office XP version for the backwardly compatible
licences. However they moved office and all the software has ended up mixed
up in a carton without any written documentation, we now have no way of
knowing which copies have been activated and which have not.

Is there anyway I can find out without calling a premium rate microsoft
helpline ?? maybe a website where we can enter the keys we have to check ?

Thanx

You have quite no choice other than using a random product key, and if the install fails, choosing the phone activation method and explaining the situation to the operator

This could take some time and all at the cost of my customer and a
painstakingly boring job for our Intern. Is it any wonder that businesses
are now looking to products such as Open Office and Star Office ???

thanx Bill!

because your customer threw all his software in a box and
kept no records you mean.

magic jelly bean will find the keys that have been used

I certainly advise the intern to label each set of CD's with the machines
they are installed on once he/she finds the correct Product Keys.

Another option for finding the Product Keys is to use AIDA32 Enterprise
Edition, found here:
http://www.aida32.hu/aida-download.php?bit=32
Make sure you download the Enterprise System version, as the Personal
version won't display your Office Key.
