You would benefit from creating a Master Control show. It takes a few
minutes to set up, but will do what you want and be quickly ready as the
presentations become available. Here are the steps...
1) Create a new blank presentation and place a 1 as the title on the only
slide. Save it, in the directory you will be using for the show, as "1.ppt"
2) Change the slide title text (1) to a "2" and resave the presentation
again, only this time use "2.ppt"
3) Repeat the process until you have 12 single slide presentations built in
your directory. These single slide presentations are actually placeholders
for the 12 real presentations you will be receiving (usually last minute).
If it works better for you, you can use the presenters names or whatever.
4) Create your new control presentation. This will be just 14 blank black
slides. The first is your start slide, the last an end slide and the middle
ones should each contain a link to your numbered presentation placeholder
files. Follow the presentation linking tutorial link that tohlz provided,
it is a very good one.
5) As the presentation files arrive, simply copy them into the directory and
rename over the presentation placeholder files. This can be done at any
time up until the link to that presentation is fired.
This allows you to have the linking all set up beforehand, to not show your
desktop, and to have only 1 or 2 presentations loaded into memory at a time
(instead of linking them one after the other and having all 12 in memory by
the end of the session).
If these steps aren't clear, or you need additional assistance, please post
back.
