How to config so that MSP does not change dates

Can MSP (2003/2007) be configured so that when progress is reported,
the system only applies the hours worked to the plan and does not
change any dates?

Well, I suppose your PM's can do this by disabling automatic calculation in
Microsoft Project (Tools - Options - Calculation), however, the point of
this makes no sense. I can't imagine how your PM's can manage projects in
the real world without knowing whether tasks are slipping or not. Hope this

Hi Andy,

If you have chosen to track hours per day then you are implicity saying that
you want to understand the hours worked on various days. However, if you
change the tracking method to just % complete then it shouldn't change the
days. You can choose whether to allow the PM the choice of tracking method.
