HI All,

I am using Project Server 2003/web access and Project Professional 2003 for
project managemnt. Is there any way to set the holidays in MPP or Project
Server. Also let me know how Leave can be handled in Project Server/web
access and MPP file.

Early response is appreciated.

Regards,
Vani

To set company holidays in Project Server, do the following:

1. Launch Microsoft Project Professional and log into Project Server with
administrator permissions
2. Click Tools - Enterprise Options - Open Enterprise Global
3. Click Tools - Change Working Time
4. On the Standard calendar, set the dates of all holidays as nonworking
time
5. Click OK
6. Save and close the Enterprise Global
7. Exit Microsoft Project Professional

You must do step #7 so that your changes take effect before doing the next
set of steps. To vacation and sick leave in Project Server, do the
following steps:

1. Launch Microsoft Project Professional and log into Project Server with
administrator permissions
2. Click Tools - Enterprise Options - Open Enterprise Resource Pool
3. Select the resources for which you wish to enter Leave time and click
the Open/Add button
4. Double click a resource
5. Select the Working Time tab
6. Set the dates of Leave time as nonworking time
7. Click the Notes tab and enter a note to document the leave (optional,
but helpful to your PM's)
8. Click OK
9. Repeat steps 4-8 for each resource with Leave time
10. Save and close the Enterprise Resource Pool

Hope this helps.

I have doubt in permission these users should have to set Holidays and Leaves.

This can be set by PM's, so why they should have administrative privileges.
What kind privileges these users should have to have these privileges.

Thanks,
Vani

You can edit the calendars in the Enterprise Global and Enterprise Resource
Pool if you have administrator permissions in the system. Hope this helps.

That means PM's should have administrative priv to these settings.

If I am using only MPP ie, professional, then how do I set the Holidays and
Leaves?

Thanks,
Vani

Do you have administrator permissions in Project Server, which specifically
means you are included in the Administrators group? If you have
administrator permissions, you can set holidays and leaves using the
directions I gave you in my previous post. If you do not have administrator
permissions, then your Project Server administrator would need to give you
these permissions. Hope this helps.
