Dominic,
You can also set Outlook to download AOL/AIM mail through a POP Mail server.
This will only download the messages in the AOL Inbox, and will Not show any
other AOL folder in OUTLOOK. As it would if you set up in Outlook, AOL Mail
as an IMAP acct.
If you want to leave the messages on the AOL server, and have access to them
through the AOL software. You will need have the acct in Outlook set to
leave messages on the server. You will need to that on the Advance tab,
under "More Settings".
Incoming Server: pop.aol.com or pop.aim.com (for AIM Mail) Port: 110
Outgoing Server: smtp.aol.com or smtp.aim.com (for AIM Mail) Port: 587
