I HAVE LARGE VOLUMNE OF TEXT WHICH I SHOULD BE IN LOWER CASE.
I WANT TO CONVERT IT TO LOWERCASE WITHOUT RETYPING THE WHOLE THING.

To convert text click on -

<Format><Change case><Lower case> (as appropriate) <OK>

By the way net etiquette considers a post in all capitals as shouting and,
perhaps, rude. No offence taken though.

<shift>F3 will cycle through lower, UPPER and Title Text.
