How to copy an e mail into a format that I can update and save

I have received an e-mail with a printed list in the text, not as an
attachment. I saved the e-mail into Documents. I need to use and update the
list contained in the text of the e-mail. I cannot make changes to it in its
current format. How can I move or convert it into Word or somewhere where I
can isolate and update and continue to save the list it contains? I don't
want to completely retype the list as a word document if I don't have to.
Sorry, not very computer literate.
