How to copy line 1, 3, 5 without 2 and 4?

I want to copy certain lines in a document. In a folder I would hold the Ctrl button down and click with the mouse. Is there
something similiar in Word?

If you have Word2003 (and maybe the previous version) use CTRL+SHIFT and the
mouse to copy disconnected text.

In Word 2002 and 2003, you can select noncontiguous text by selecting the
first line, then pressing Ctrl while you select the others.

Using Word 2000 (9.0.2720). Those Ctrl tips didn't work. I guess its too old.
