How to copy only files' name??

I have thousands of pdf files and should make a list of these files name in
Excel sheet.
How can I copy only files name, not files contents, at a time and import
into the Excel?

Steph,

Go to http://www.karenware.com/powertools/ptdirprn.asp and download
the Directory Printer software and install. This is great freeware!

Launch Directory Printer, navigate to your source folder and select
the "Save to Disk" tab. (Or use the right-click extension directly on
the source folder).

Select the items (on the list at right) you want to print: name, size,
etc. If needed, use the filter option to select only the pdf files
if you have other files in the source folder. Click "Save to disk"
and chose the "tab separated" format (tsv), and save.

Open Excel and drag the newly created tsv file into it. Excel should
handle the tab separation. I say "should" because it may depend on
the specific configuration of Excel - please e-mail if you have a
question. Trim away the few unwanted rows and column(s) and you have
the list of all your files in Excel.
