How to create 5.5x4.25 8 page booklet?

I consider what I am trying to do extremely simple.
4n page booklet (4, 8, 12, etc) size either 5.5x4.25 or 4.25x5.5 printed on
letter sized paper double sided (of course)
For an eight page spread on a single letter sized sheet I want to see:
p8 - p1 and on the reverse p2 - p7 for the top of the page and
p6 - p3 and on the reverse p4 - p5 for the bottom

How do I make that happen???

I would also appreciate if anybody could explain to me what am I missing here?
How is it possible to have hundreds of templates but not this most obvious
one?

Any help will be appreciated.

What version Publisher?

Page setup, booklet, custom, portrait, type 4.25 width, 5.5 height. Publisher
will print two booklets per sheet.

If you want one booklet, cut your paper first, in print setup create a custom
stock size - 8.5 x 5.5. Setup as a booklet.

You cannot create a booklet with two different pages on the same side of a sheet
of stock. Well you can, but it will be such a headache to create.

Thank you very much for the help.
My question was premature, eventually I figured it out on my own - both the
'how to' and the limitation which I can live with (however eco-non-friendly
it is)
I am using 2003 at work and 2007 at home. I worked it out in 2003, I hope it
will not be significantly different in 2007.
