I was sent a very large file. Outlook 2002 (all up to date) froze. Since
then, I cannot get it to boot. It gets to the point where it starts
displaying my reminders and then shuts down.

This is a copy of the error messages I get:
EventType : BEX P1 : OUTLOOK.EXE P2 : 10.0.6838.0 P3 : 471db3ea
P4 : MailMsg.ppl P5 : 7.0.0.125 P6 : 468375d9 P7 : 00001586
P8 : c0000409 P9 : 00000000

EventType : BEX P1 : P2 : 0.0.0.0 P3 : 00000000 P4 : unknown
P5 : 0.0.0.0 P6 : 00000000 P7 : 64f01586 P8 : c0000409
P9 : 00000000
Any help will be appreciated.

The error reported indicates an issue with a Kaspersky product that you have
installed. Most likely Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0.

Can you still open Outlook in Safe Mode?
Start-> Run-> outlook.exe /safe

Additionally see;
http://www.howto-outlook.com/faq/outlookdoesntstart.htm

Best way to go would be to contact Kaspersky's support on how to
troubleshoot the issue with their product if you cannot get it to run with
the steps indicated at the site provided above.

Thanks very much. I had already tried the fixes suggested, and have now
contacted Kaspersky. They will respond in the next few days (Holiday).
I appreciate your response.

You're welcome! :)

For the time being, you could consider disabling Kaspersky's integration
with Outlook. You might be able to at least start Outlook then.
If they only provide virus scanning feature, you might as well leave that
integration turned off as it wouldn't provide an extra level of safety
anyway. See http://www.msoutlook.info/question/20

Hi Robert. Thanks again.
I have followed the links from your latest email, and am unable to find out
how to turn that integration off. Can you give me any direction?
Best regards,

Hello Robert.
After sending my last message, I spent more time and discovered a switch in
Kaspersky where I could disable the outlook connection. I did this.
I then booted Outlook in safe mode a few times. It kept crashing, but one of
those time I was able to delete the 2 messages that I believe werre causing
the problems.
After another series of safe boots during which I instantly closed Outlook
before it could crash, I again booted it in safe mode and left it alone. It
DIDN"T crash. I have since booted it up normally and it seems to be stable.

No disrespect, but I hope this is the last time I have to email you :)

As I have so much of my life on Outlook, I am grateful for your help.
Thank you.

You're welcome and thanks for the feedback.

As your Outlook has done so much crashing the last few days, you might want
to do a manual integrity check on your pst-file by scanning it with
scanpst.exe. Scan it over and over again until it can't find any errors
anymore. Sometimes this means that you'll have to run it at least 3 times or
more. In any case; always start with making a backup of your pst-file before
attempting it to fix the issues.

If you can't find scanpst.exe, take a look here;

Hi Robert.
I had used this tool and found no errors.On your advice, I used it again and
again found no errors.
