How to create a workflow?

Daniel

Hello,
I have a very basic question about how to create a workflow. Of course, I
read the “Create a workflow†article from the Microsoft site
(http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepointdesigner/HA101005911033.aspx)
but I am stuck on step 3:

1. On the File menu, click Open Site.
2. In the Open Site dialog box, browse to and select the SharePoint site
where you want to create the workflow, and then click Open.
3. On the File menu, point to New, and then click Workflow.

I assume they are talking about Internet Explorer, but I found no Workflow
after clicking on New in the file menu. I am using IE 6.0 in French. Can
anyone tell me what the problem is?
Thanks in advance
Daniel

They are not referring to Internet Explorer. They are referring the
"SharePoint Designer" which is a web design tool.

OK, you’re right; it was explained at the beginning of the page so I should
have read it. But the problem is, I can’t find this tool on my computer. Is
there a customized setting to do during the install process? Plus can I
create a workflow without using this tool?
I also watched this tutorial :
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/TC102750041033.aspx
On slide 13 (called “What it looks likeâ€) there are showing a document
called “Company Meeting†(Contoso>Shared Documents). On the next slide they
show this page: Contoso>Shared Documents> Company Meeting> Workflows
I can’t figure out how to do that in my workspace with my documents (not
found any command!) Can you help me?

Daniel:

SharePoint Designer is a separate (free) download from Microsoft. You need
to install it to use it. Microsoft has disabled editing of Project Web
Access pages with SharePoint Designer and requires Visual Studio to edit
these. Keep that in mind.
