How to create labels for hyperlinks

T

Todd

I am creating a web site that includes a map. I have red circles on the map
indicating points of interest. When the mouse moves over the hyperlink, how
can I get a label of the point of interest (ex. Disney World) to pop up as
long as the mouse is over that particluar hyperlink? I am almost certain I
have seen this on the Internet before. I am wanting the hyperlinks to do the
same thing as a comment in an excel file. When you mouse over the cell a
comment pops up. I am using Publisher 2003.

There is no built-in way of doing this in Publisher. You might Google for
"tool tips" or "mouseover tool tips" or "javascript mouseover" or some such
to find some free code that you might insert via the insert html code
fragment tool.

You can layer code fragment boxes on top of other design elements, but
bottom line is I don't have a clue as to how to do what the OP wants to
do...that was just my best guess and the way I would try to research the
question. You got a better idea?

You probably could create image maps but I think it would be extraordinarily
complicated figuring out the coordinates of all the points for the image map
and inserting them in html snippet box thing...Pub not being an html editor
and all. Dunno,,, I guess it could be a snowy Sunday project for someone -
(it doesn't snow here :)
