How to customize Word dialog controls

I'm looking for a way to make changes to a Word dialog itself. Is this
possible?

My specific problem is with the SpellCheck dialog. Originally, I thought
changes could only be made to your document by clicking the "Change" button
but I recently discovered that the top textbox which displays the entire
current sentence can be edited!!! This is a real problem for forms protected
documents where we temporarily turn off the forms protection to allow the
TextBox form fields to be spell checked by Word.

Why in the world would Word allow the user to insert and remove text in a
text box?

If there is a way to make this particular text box readonly/disabled I'd
appreciate your ideas...

Thanks,
Bill

Thanks for the response. We actually use this approach to unprotect the Word
document and then proceed with the spell check to include the text form
fields.

The problem is that the Spell Check dialog still comes up and gives the user
the opportunity to edit the document's content in its text box. This is
terrible because the contents not contained in the form field are intended to
be un-editable.

I actually just tried a simple example where I made a word document with a
text form field that contained two misspelled words. I executed the VBA code
from the link and then got the spell check dialog. I typed a few words at
the end of the sentence into the spellcheck dialog's text box and hit the
change button and the entire application goes into a not-responding state.
